Oh, and we almost forgot – a bunch of various fixes and improvements to make the app run smoother.
NordVPN 3.3.1
In the previous release, we introduced NordLynx – a solution for a fast and secure VPN connection based on WireGuard®. Now we’re bringing a few improvements to make your NordLynx experience even better:
-
The CyberSec feature now plays nicely with NordLynx. You can still block ads and shield yourself from malware after switching from OpenVPN.
-
Auto-connect now works smoothly. We fixed the bug where the app was trying to connect to VPN way too soon – even before your computer connected to the internet.
Also, we’ve added subtle tweaks and squished a few minor bugs to make NordVPN work better for you.
NordVPN 3.3.0
We’re introducing NordLynx – the solution for a fast, secure, and private VPN connection. Our NordLynx technology is based on WireGuard® and lets you experience its speed benefits without compromising your privacy.
By default, NordVPN for Linux runs on the OpenVPN protocol. After you download the latest version, follow these steps to switch to NordLynx:
- Install WireGuard. Tutorials for different distributions are available in our Help Center
- Open the terminal and enter
nordvpn set technology nordlynx
- To connect to VPN, enter
nordvpn c
That’s it – now your app is running on NordLynx. You can always switch back to OpenVPN by enteringnordvpn set technology OpenVPN
