WITH the debate continuing over the level of grades awarded to students at this year’s Caribbean Examination Council’s May/June exams, a five-member panel has been convened.
The panel, which comprises current and former professors of the University of the West Indies and a sitting minister of education, will review all facets of the modified examination.In a statement, CXC said that its Chairman, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles has convened a team that would review the modified approach for the administration of the July/August 2020 CSEC and CAPE Examinations; the moderation process applied to the School-Based Assessment (SBA) for the July/August 2020 CSEC and CAPE Examinations.
The entire process has been called into question after students, teachers and parents have complained about the grades students had received.In some instances, students received ungraded even though they submitted their School-Based Assessment and sat the examinations.
